Job summary

Corewell Health Farmington Hills Hospital is seeking a part-time Occupational Therapy Assistant to support inpatient rehabilitation services. Under supervision of an OTR, you will help implement treatment plans and assist patients across ages.

This role emphasizes teamwork, accurate documentation, and adherence to patient care standards. A relevant associate degree and COTA certification are required or eligible, with US work authorization.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
• Familiar with industrial rehab and ergonomics (preferred).
• Hands: familiar with upper extremity hand dysfunction and injuries.
• COTA certification or eligible upon hire.
• BLS certification (AHA/ARC preferred).

Corewell Health Farmington Hills opened on Jan. 19, 1965 as a 200-bed facility known then as Botsford General Hospital. Today, Corewell Health Farmington Hills Hospital is a 305-bed teaching facility with Level II trauma status.

Scope of Work

Under the supervision of the OTR, the COTA implements treatment programs for patients with physical, cognitive, or psychosocial dysfunction. The individual in this position is required to appropriately interact with all patients regardless of age or culture and to adhere to the Beaumont customer service standards. Documents patient treatment according to all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and professional standards of documentation. Submits charges for services provided. Maintains verbal, electronic and written communication with treatment team, including supervising OTR for purposes of goal setting, active problem-solving, treatment and discharge planning. Communicates observations of patient’s conditions and reactions to treatment.

Qualifications

• Required Associate's Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college or university occupational therapy assistant program.
• Familiar with industrial rehab and ergonomics preferred. Preferred
• Hands: familiar with U/E hand dysfunction and injuries. Required
• Occupational Therapy Assistant, Certified (COTA) - NB-COT National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy certified or eligible Upon Hire required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association preferred Or

Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross preferred
