Job summary

Apple Rehab Shelton Lakes in Connecticut is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team. The OTA will provide quality resident care to achieve maximum functional ability while maintaining positive interactions with patients and staff.

Graduate of an AOTA accredited OTA program and licensure eligibility are required. Prior long-term care experience is preferred, with duties including supervising students and ensuring safe, compliant therapy services.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AOTA accredited OTA school.
• Eligible for licensure in their state of practice.

Responsibilities

• Complies with ethical, regulatory, procedural and professional standards and practice guidelines as defined by state of licensure.
• Assists the OT in providing occupational therapy treatments to residents as determined by the Plan of Care as directed by the OT.
• Manages caseload with supervisor by scheduling treatment individually or in groups while maintaining efficiency expectations.
• Instructs resident, family, and caregivers in OT procedures to be continued upon discharge.
• Adheres to PPS guidelines, ensures all OT documentation/treatment conforms to documentation/billing policies and procedures.
• Working with OT, provides oversight and direction techs and assists in the supervision and education of affiliating students.
• Assists in the assurance that the physical surroundings and equipment are sanitary, orderly and free from conditions that may cause safety hazards.
