Job summary

Apple Rehab Farmington Valley in Plainville, CT, is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our skilled nursing and rehabilitation team. You will help residents achieve and maintain maximum functional ability while fostering positive interactions with staff and families.

Qualifications: graduate of an AOTA‑accredited OTA program and eligibility for state licensure; prior long‑term care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AOTA accredited OTA program and eligible for licensure in their state.

Responsibilities

• Complies with ethical, regulatory, procedural and professional standards and practice guidelines as defined by state of licensure.
• Assists the OT in providing occupational therapy treatments to residents as determined by the Plan of Care as directed by the OT.
• Manages caseload with supervisor by scheduling treatment individually or in groups while maintaining efficiency expectations.
• Instructs resident, family, and caregivers in OT procedures to be continued upon discharge.
• Adheres to PPS guidelines, ensures all OT documentation/treatment conforms to documentation/billing policies and procedures.
• Working with OT, provides oversight and direction to techs and assists in the supervision and education of affiliating students.
• Assists in ensuring the physical surroundings and equipment are sanitary, orderly and free from safety hazards.
