Job summary

MercyOne Elkader Medical Center is hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to work under the supervision of an OTR. The COTA will screen, assess, implement and provide OT treatment for patients, supporting evaluation processes and direct patient care for all age groups from infants to geriatrics.

The schedule is a Day shift, 20 hours per week. Requirements include an NBCOT certification, an OTA associate degree, and Iowa licensure or eligibility to practice.

Qualifications

• Certification through NBCOT.
• Associate degree as Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
• Licensure (or eligibility for licensure) by the State of Iowa to practice as an OTA.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy services under OTR supervision.
• Screen, assess, and implement treatment plans for patients across all ages.
• Support direct patient care and contribute to evaluation processes.

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) at MercyOne, you will be under general supervision of OTR, the COTA screens, assesses, implements and provides occupational therapy treatment for patients. The COTA assists the OTR in the evaluation process. Possesses the skills necessary to provide direct patient care specific to each age group in accordance with departmental policy. The age of the patients served range in age from infants to geriatrics.

Schedule:

General Requirements:

• Certification through the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc. (NCBOT)
• Associate degree as Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program
• Licensure (or eligibility for licensure) by the State of Iowa to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant
