Job summary

Synchrony in Michigan seeks an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to support therapy plans under an OT. You will assist with therapeutic exercises, ADL training, and progress documentation in a collaborative interdisciplinary setting. A state OTA license or certification is required, CPR certification preferred, and 0–1 years of experience is acceptable.

Typical duties include patient education, home-exercise guidance, and close communication with supervising therapists to ensure quality care.

Qualifications

• Education: Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
• Experience: 0-1 years; must have state OTA licensure or certification; CPR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in carrying out treatment plans developed by occupational therapists, including exercises and ADL training.
• Help patients with exercises and adaptive techniques to improve independence.
• Observe and document patient responses and progress for supervising OT.
• Provide home-exercise guidance to patients and families.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure patient care.
• Support OTs in evaluating needs and progress with additional observations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Provide education and guidance to patients and their families on home exercises, adaptive techniques, and strategies to support continued progress.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Support Occupational Therapists in evaluating patient needs and progress, providing additional observations and insights.
• Other duties as assigned.
