Job summary

Franciscan Health Care Center in Louisville, KY seeks an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to support therapeutic interventions under the direction of an Occupational Therapist. You will implement treatment plans, assist patients with daily activities, and help document progress within an interdisciplinary care team.

The role requires an OTA license or certification and CPR (preferred). Team-based care and ongoing education are emphasized to help patients achieve optimal functional outcomes.

Qualifications

• OTA degree from an accredited program.
• Current valid state OTA licensure or certification.
• Current CPR certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist in carrying out treatment plans developed by occupational therapists, including therapeutic exercises and ADL training.
• Help patients with exercises, activities, and adaptive techniques to improve functional abilities.
• Observe and document patients’ responses to therapy and report progress to the supervising OT.
• Provide education to patients and families on home exercises and strategies for progress.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Support OTs in evaluating patient needs and progress with additional observations.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Observe and maintain up-to-date documentation related to patients’ responses to therapy, document their progress, and report findings to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Provide education and guidance to patients and their families on home exercises, adaptive techniques, and strategies to support continued progress.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Support Occupational Therapists in evaluating patient needs and progress, providing additional observations and insights.
• Other duties as assigned.
