Job summary

Synchrony is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to work under an OT, delivering therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary setting. You’ll assist with exercises, ADL training, and progress documentation to support patient outcomes.

Must hold an OTA license and CPR (preferred). The role emphasizes collaboration with the care team, education for patients and families, and ongoing documentation of progress.

Responsibilities

• Assist in carrying out treatment plans developed by occupational therapists, including exercises and ADL training.
• Help patients with exercises and adaptive techniques to improve independence.
• Observe and document patient responses and progress for supervising OT.
• Provide education to patients and families on home exercises and strategies.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.
• Support OT in evaluating patient needs and progress with additional observations.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Assist in carrying out treatment plans developed by occupational therapists, including therapeutic exercises, activities of daily living (ADL) training, and other interventions.
• Help patients with exercises, activities, and adaptive techniques aimed at improving their functional abilities and independence.
• Observe and maintain up-to-date documentation related to patients’ responses to therapy, document their progress, and report findings to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Provide education and guidance to patients and their families on home exercises, adaptive techniques, and strategies to support continued progress.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Support Occupational Therapists in evaluating patient needs and progress, providing additional observations and insights.
• Other duties as assigned.
