Job summary

Aberjona Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Massachusetts is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our therapy team. The role focuses on delivering resident-centered skilled therapy across short-term rehab and long-term care services, with emphasis on functional independence.

As part of an interdisciplinary team, you will implement treatment plans, document progress, and contribute to discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Current MA State License as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Graduate of an AOTA-approved Occupational Therapy Assistant Program.
• Must comply with state, federal, and AOTA standards of practice when planning and carrying out treatment programs and other functions of an Occupational Therapy Assistant

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day treatment to residents, including training in self-care, functional transfers, functional ambulation, home living skills, perceptual and cognitive activities, and strengthening, balance, and coordination activities
• Communicate with other disciplines and interact with staff as necessary to enhance interdisciplinary team rapport and improve patient care
• Provide routine documentation and changes to treatments according to policy
• Supervise rehab and restorative aids regarding patient treatments, ROM, restorative feeding groups, and positioning of patients
• Meet department standards of completion of discharge charts, including FIMS, home treatment programs, and equipment recommendations following discharge
