• Travel Percentage: Up to 50%

Job Description

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will implement the plan of care as established by the therapist and the physician, ensuring quality of care. Responsibilities include communicating with facility staff, providing training and in-services, and supporting the facility's needs.

Qualifications

• Screen residents quarterly to identify declines in functional abilities and determine if therapeutic intervention is needed.
• Evaluate residents per MD order and establish treatment plans and goals tailored to individual needs.
• Re-assess patients to determine ongoing need for services based on progress.
• Carry out treatment programs as indicated.
• Provide discharge planning to promote maximal independence.
• Educate staff, families, and caregivers as needed.
• Develop and implement programs according to company policies.
• Identify equipment needs and order accordingly.
• Complete documentation as per guidelines.
• Coordinate in-services for staff to ensure effective care.
• Attend all required meetings.
• Supervise therapy assistants/techs according to state regulations.

Licensing Requirements

Maintain active Texas state licensure for Therapy Assistant.
