Position Type: Full Time

Salary Range: Undisclosed

Description: The Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) implements therapeutic programs under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. This includes patient teaching and therapeutic activities aimed at improving or restoring physical functions, sensory-integrative functions, and increasing independence in activities of daily living.

Job Duties / Knowledge
  1. Coordinates and collaborates with the Occupational Therapist and the Rehab Director to ensure integration of the therapeutic program into the plan of care.
  2. Guides and teaches patients in the use of therapeutic, compensatory, creative, and self-care activities to improve function and independence.
  3. Observes, records, and reports patient reactions to treatment and any changes in condition or treatment, documenting patient involvement in decision-making.
  4. Participates in patient case conferences to coordinate care and promote positive outcomes.
  5. Reports patient complaints of pain or sickness, and unusual reactions to treatment to the Occupational Therapist and RN.
Physical Requirements

Sufficient sight and hearing to comprehend written and verbal communication; ability to work a minimum of eight hours per day while driving, standing, sitting, assisting patient movement, writing, and speaking.
