Job summary

Civita Health Care Systems is hiring a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join the Bayview Health Care team in Waterford. The COTA will assist with assessment data collection and direct treatment under supervision, contributing to program development.

The candidate should have an OTA associate degree, current state licensure, and licensure CEUs; two years of experience is preferred, new grads welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
• Current licensure by the applicable state agency.
• CEUs per state licensure requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident treatments under a physician-approved plan of care (individual, supervised, and group).
• Perform administrative duties as assigned by Rehab Program Manager.
• Participate in team meetings and program decision making processes.
• Consult with and train patients, residents, and caregivers.
• Monitor efficiencies in collaboration with supervisor.
• Document activities in the clinical documentation system in a timely manner.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Medicare and other reimbursement regulations.
• Participate in clinical program development and implementation.
• Support quality improvement activities.

As a COTA, you assist in the provision of collection of assessment data, and direct treatment to a general rehab caseload under the direction and supervision of an Occupational Therapist and participate in clinical program development.

Education & Experience:

• As a minimum, an associate degree in occupational therapy assistant from an accredited program.
• CEU’s per state licensure requirements.
• Current licensure by the applicable state agency.
• Two (2) years of clinical experience preferred.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• May perform additional assigned administrative duties such as assigned by Rehab Program Manager.
• Under a physician’s order, provides direct resident treatments in accordance with an established plan of care. Treatment venue includes individual, supervised, and group.
