Job summary

Fitchburg Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a Full-Time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to deliver rehabilitation services under the supervision of a Licensed Occupational Therapist. The role focuses on promoting independence and improving residents' functioning in a warm, family-friendly setting.

You will work with an interdisciplinary team to implement treatment plans, document progress, educate residents and families on therapies and safety, and support long-term

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) program.
• Must hold a valid COTA license and registration in the state of practice.
• Experience with long-term care and/or geriatric care preferred, but not required.
• Experience with Case Mix Index and PPS scheduling preferred, but not required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Occupational Therapist in providing direct patient care to residents requiring rehabilitation services.
• Implement treatment programs established by the Occupational Therapist according to the patient’s capacity and tolerance.
• Monitor and document residents’ responses to treatment and report progress or concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Help residents improve strength, coordination, mobility, cognitive skills, and functional independence.
• Educate residents and families on therapy techniques, adaptive strategies, and safety procedures as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Complete required documentation, including daily treatment notes and other assigned records, in a timely and accurate manner.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to provide patient-centered care.
• Perform all other duties assigned by the Director of Rehabilitation.
• Maintain compliance with confidentiality policies, HIPAA regulations, and Federal Residents’ Rights.
