Job summary

Care Network in New York is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support residents in daily activities and rehab plans. You will work under the Occupational Therapist to deliver treatment and promote independence.

You should have a current COTA certification and state license; long-term care experience is a plus. We value compassionate, reliable team players who communicate clearly with residents, families, and staff.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Current COTA certification and state license in good standing.
  • Experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Occupational Therapist in delivering treatment plans to help residents regain independence in activities of daily living (ADLs).
  • Carry out therapeutic activities to improve residents’ strength, coordination, mobility, cognition, and self-care abilities.
  • Monitor and document resident progress through accurate and timely notes and reports.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and care team members.
  • Support in training residents and families on techniques and use of adaptive equipment.
  • Follow established treatment protocols and safety guidelines under the direction of the Occupational Therapist.
  • Participate in care team meetings and collaborate to ensure a holistic, resident-centered care approach.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, including HIPAA and Residents' Rights.

Duties and Responsibilities:
