Qualifications

• Graduate from an Accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program with an Associate’s degree.
• Must possess a current CO Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) License.
• Knowledge of state, federal, and local regulations as they pertain to long-term care.
• Able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Must be able to communicate in English, verbally and in writing.
• Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology.
• Experience providing patient care in inpatient, outpatient, and skilled nursing settings.

We are looking for a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to join the team at Valley Manor Care Center, in Montrose, CO! As our Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA), you will provide hands-on therapeutic support to help patients improve, regain, and maintain their daily living skills under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist. Your responsibilities will include implementing treatment plans, monitoring patient progress, documenting outcomes, educating patients and families on therapeutic techniques, and collaborating with healthcare teams to support quality patient care. To be successful, you must have strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care.

Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant Responsibilities:

• Assist occupational therapists in implementing treatment plans for patients, focusing on improving daily living activities (ADLs).
• Monitor patient progress and document outcomes in accordance with care plans.
• Educate patients and families on therapeutic techniques and exercises.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care, utilizing knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology.

Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant Qualifications:

• Must be a graduate from an Accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program and have an Associate’s degree.
• Must possess a current COOccupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) License
• Must possess strong knowledge regarding state, federal, and local regulations as they pertain to long-term care.
• Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing and possess sufficient communication skills to perform the tasks required.
