Job summary

LTC Therapy Services in Quincy, MA is hiring a full-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to help skilled nursing residents improve daily living skills through hands-on rehabilitation guided by the supervising Occupational Therapist. You will carry out treatment activities, coach residents through personal care tasks, and implement prescribed exercises to enhance upper-extremity function, coordination, and activity tolerance.

Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts Occupational Therapy Assistant license and COTA certification.
• Strong observation skills and attention to resident safety.
• Effective communication and timely, accurate treatment documentation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out treatment activities that address functional goals in residents' OT plans of care.
• Coach residents through personal care tasks with appropriate cueing.
• Incorporate prescribed exercises for upper-extremity function, coordination and activity tolerance.
• Assist residents with adaptive equipment techniques and energy conservation in daily routines.
• Share progress observations with the supervising OT and adjust plans as needed.
• Keep clinical records current and coordinate with nursing/rehabilitation staff.

What You’ll Do

• Carry out treatment activities that address the functional goals established in residents’ OT plans of care.

• Coach residents through personal care tasks, adjusting assistance and cueing to their abilities.

• Incorporate prescribed exercises and purposeful activities for upper-extremity function, coordination, and activity tolerance.

• Help residents practice adaptive equipment techniques and energy conservation strategies during daily routines.

• Share observations about progress, participation, and changing needs with the supervising OT.

• Keep clinical records current and work with nursing and rehabilitation staff to reinforce treatment strategies outside therapy.
