Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Full-Time
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation team in Boston, MA. The COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality, resident-focused therapy services. This position is full-time and open to new graduates as well as candidates with Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy treatments in accordance with established plans of care under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
- Assist residents in improving independence with activities of daily living (ADLs), functional mobility, strength, coordination, and cognitive skills.
- Monitor and document resident progress, responses to treatment, and any changes in condition.
- Communicate effectively with the supervising Occupational Therapist and interdisciplinary care team.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree from an ACOTE-accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current NBCOT certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
- Active Massachusetts COTA license or eligibility to obtain prior to start date.
- Ability to work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
- Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to meet physical requirements of the position, including assisting residents with mobility and transfers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), rehabilitation, or post-acute care setting.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR).
- BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Experience:
- New graduates are encouraged to apply.
- SNF or post-acute care experience preferred but not required.
- Relevant clinical fieldwork experience will be considered.

Requirements:
- Must meet all Massachusetts licensure requirements for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants.
- Must comply with all applicable state and federal healthcare regulations, including HIPAA.
- Successful completion of background check, drug screening, and health clearance (including TB testing) required prior to employment.
- Must maintain licensure and certification in good standing throughout employment.
