Works under the supervision of Registered Nurse/LPN and Nurse Manager/Director, providing personal care to hospital patients and maintaining their environment, including those requiring special precautions. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care, understanding principles of growth and development, and adhering to departmental policies. Promotes a safe work environment, aligned with national patient safety initiatives.

What you will do

• Understand and utilize technology systems for patient data collection.
• Ensure availability of resources (equipment, supplies) for positive patient outcomes.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Follow the plan of care to perform treatments and procedures competently and independently under RN/LPN direction, including procedures like vital signs, enemas, specimen collection, etc., depending on competency requirements.
• Provide consistent, competent, and ethical care within legal standards, respecting patient privacy and values, and accurately document all care activities.
• Support training and mentorship of team members, volunteers, and students as needed.

Qualifications

Experience

• At least 1 year of prior experience in an acute healthcare setting (preferred).

Licenses and Certifications

• Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP), upon hire (required).
• CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute, upon hire (required).
• Alternatively, CPR/BLS Instructor certification from AHA/ARC, upon hire (required).
