Job summary

Novant Health in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in our Gastroenterology unit. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and completion of the NAI program; one year of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support safety initiatives, including fall prevention and hourly rounding.

• Transport patients to procedures and testing as needed.

Our Gastroenterology Unit specializes in caring for patients with a variety of gastrointestinal and hepatic conditions, while supporting those recovering from endoscopic and GI surgical procedures. As a CNA, you will play a vital role in delivering compassionate, patient-centered care and helping patients navigate their healthcare journey with dignity and confidence.

Patient Populations You'll Support

Patients with GI bleeds, liver disease, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and pancreatitis

Patients recovering from endoscopic procedures and GI surgeries

Individuals requiring close monitoring for complex gastrointestinal and hepatic conditions

Patients receiving specialized treatments and therapies related to digestive health

What You'll Do

Assisting patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility

Monitoring and documenting vital signs, intake and output, and changes in patient condition

Supporting patient safety initiatives, including fall prevention and hourly rounding

Assisting nurses with patient care activities and procedures

Providing comfort measures and emotional support to patients and families

Preparing patient rooms and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment

Transporting patients to procedures, testing, and other departments as needed

Promoting a positive patient experience through compassionate and respectful care

What We're Looking For

Education: High school diploma, required. Completion of NAI program, required.

Experience: One year of relevant experience, preferred. One year required, Assisted Living facilities only: experience working in long-term care or assisted living

Licensure/Certification:

Completion of NAI program, Required.

Listed with the nurse aide registry as an NA I, Required. Medication Safety - AME, Required.

NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, Required.

Additional skills preferred: Basic computer skills for documentation.
