Job summary

Novant Health's General Med/Surg team in Wilmington, NC is seeking a Part-Time Certified Nursing Assistant for day shift 7am-7pm at NH NHRMC. The role emphasizes compassionate care, patient dignity, and teamwork in a supportive environment.

You will assist with activities of daily living, document vitals, and help mobility under a registered nurse supervision. Education: HS diploma or GED; NAI program; NA I license; AME safety; 3 months to meet criteria; LTC experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year experience in Assisted Living or long-term care preferred.
• Completion of NAI program required.
• Listed with the nurse aide registry as an NA I required.
• Medication Safety - AME required.
• NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and support daily activities.
• Assist with ambulation, mobility, and fall-prevention under RN guidance.
• Document vitals and patient status accurately to support clinical decisions.
• Provide a calm, supportive environment for patients and families.
• Assist with activities of daily living and maintain a safe, clean environment under supervision.
• Assist Living units: support residents with daily living and report changes to the Charge Nurse.

What You'll Do

• Deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care by using your clinical experience to anticipate needs, support daily activities, and promote comfort and dignity throughout each patient’s stay.
• Serve as a trusted partner to nurses and providers, using your seasoned judgment to share meaningful observations, support care plans, and help the team stay aligned in a fast‑paced environment.
• Guide safe mobility and recovery efforts, drawing on your expertise to assist with ambulation, repositioning, and fall‑prevention practices that keep patients progressing safely.
• Ensure accurate, timely documentation of vitals and patient status, contributing reliable information that strengthens communication and supports excellent clinical decision‑making.
• Foster a calm, supportive environment for patients and families, using your experience to offer reassurance, set expectations, and help others feel grounded during challenging moments.
• Provides and documents assistance to patients with activities of daily living and maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse.
• Assisted Living units only: Responsible for assisting residents with activities of daily living as scheduled and reporting any change in status to the Charge Nurse

What We're Looking For

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
• Experience: 1 year of Assisted Living facilities only: experience working in long-term care or assisted living, required.
• Licensure/Certification:Completion of NAI program, required.
  • Listed with the nurse aide registry as an NA I, required.
  • Medication Safety - AME, required.
  • NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required.
• Additional Skills (preferred):Basic computer skills for documentation.
