Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant (CNA) for the 46-bed Medical-Surgical Unit at Kernersville Medical Center in Kernersville, NC. You’ll support adults with a variety of medical and post-surgical needs, assisting with daily living, vital signs, and patient comfort under the supervision of the nursing team.

You’ll work a full-time night shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) in a fast-paced hospital environment, collaborating with experienced nurses and interdisciplinary team members to promote

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Completion of NAI program required.
• One year of relevant experience preferred; one year required for Assisted Living facilities.
• NAI program completion and nurse aide registry (NAI) listed) required.
• Medication Safety - AME required.
• State-approved curricula for restrictive interventions within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living, mobility, hygiene, and personal care.
• Obtain and document vital signs and other patient information.
• Monitor and record intake and output as directed.
• Support patient comfort, positioning, and safety.
• Observe patients and promptly report changes in condition to the nursing team.
• Assist nursing staff with patient-care activities within scope of practice.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and supportive patient-care environment.
• Promote patient dignity, independence, and an exceptional patient experience.

What We’re Looking For

• Education: High school diploma, required. Completion of NAI program, required.
• Experience: One year of relevant experience, preferred. One year required, Assisted Living facilities only: experience working in long-term care or assisted living
• Licensure/Certification: Completion of NAI program, Required. Listed with the nurse aide registry as an NA I, Required. Medication Safety - AME, Required. NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, Required.
• Additional skills preferred: Basic computer skills for documentation.
