Job summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Froedtert Health’s UNIT 5NE – Internal Medicine in Milwaukee provides delegated age-appropriate care under RN supervision, performing basic nursing and personal care tasks. The CNA practices what is learned in basic nursing courses and assessments on an assigned shift.

You will work 20.00 standard hours per week on Shift 1 (07-15:30) with rotating holidays and every 3rd weekend.

Qualifications

• State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification is required.
• AHA Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.
• High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide delegated age-appropriate care under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Assist patients with tasks related to basic nursing skills, personal care, and restorative services.
• Maintain patient safety and report to the Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager on duty.

Job Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse, provides delegated age appropriate care in a culturally and ethnically sensitive manner. The CNA assists patients with the tasks outlined in their clinical competency assessment related to basic nursing skills, personal care skills and basic restorative services. The CNA practices and performs what was taught during their CNA training and certification or learned during basic nursing courses at an accredited school for professional nurses. The CNA may be asked to provide continuous safety observation. This job reports to the Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager of the assigned unit and the RNs on duty on each assigned shift. Other duties as assigned.

• LICENSURE REQUIRED: State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification is required, otherwise must be currently enrolled in a nursing program and able to provide documentation from an accredited school for professional nurses indicating successful completion of the basic nursing course which encompass all of the criteria noted by the State of Wisconsin administrative code and a minimum experience of one acute care medical/surgical clinical rotation. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
