Job summary

Froedtert Health is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for the 5NW Neurosciences unit in Milwaukee, WI. The role works 3rd shift (2200-0630) with every-other-weekend coverage and reports to the Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager on the assigned shift.

The CNA provides age-appropriate patient care under RN supervision, assisting with basic nursing tasks and safety observations. Wisconsin CNA certification is required, with BLS due within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification is required, otherwise must be currently enrolled in a nursing program and able to provide documentation from an accredited school for professional nurses indicating successful completion of the basic nursing course which encompass all of the criteria noted by the State of Wisconsin administrative code.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide delegated age-appropriate care in a culturally and ethnically sensitive manner under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Assist patients with tasks outlined in their clinical competency assessment related to basic nursing skills, personal care skills and basic restorative services.
• Perform tasks taught during CNA training and certification or learned during basic nursing courses on an accredited program.
• May be asked to provide continuous safety observation.

Job Summary:

American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
