Job summary

Froedtert ThedaCare is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for an on-site role at our Milwaukee facility. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will provide delegated age-appropriate patient care and assist with basic nursing tasks during your shift.

This 0.8 FTE (32 hours per week) position operates on Shift 2, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM with rotating holidays and weekends. Wisconsin CNA certification is required, with BLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Must hold State of Wisconsin CNA certification.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides delegated age-appropriate patient care under RN supervision.
• Assists patients with basic nursing and personal care tasks.
• May provide continuous safety observation as needed.
• Reports to Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager and RNs on duty.

Job Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse, provides delegated age appropriate care in a culturally and ethnically sensitive manner. The CNA assists patients with the tasks outlined in their clinical competency assessment related to basic nursing skills, personal care skills and basic restorative services. The CNA practices and performs what was taught during their CNA training and certification or learned during basic nursing courses at an accredited school for professional nurses. The CNA may be asked to provide continuous safety observation. This job reports to the Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager of the assigned unit and the RNs on duty on each assigned shift. Other duties as assigned.

LICENSURE REQUIRED: State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification is required, otherwise must be currently enrolled in a nursing program and able to provide documentation from an accredited school for professional nurses indicating successful completion of the basic nursing course which encompass all of the criteria noted by the State of Wisconsin administrative code and a minimum experience of one acute care medical/surgical clinical rotation. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
