Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital Milwaukee - St. Francis is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team on a PRN/Per Diem basis with 12-hour night shifts.

The hospital focuses on post-ICU care for chronically ill patients, delivering compassionate, high-quality inpatient care. The CNA will participate in hourly rounds, assist with bathing, feeding, mobility, and transport, and help maintain a clean and safe environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience (3+ years).
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, CNA certification, or related field experience preferred.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Bath patients using basin-less methods, provide oral hygiene and feeding, and assist with personal care.
• Perform hourly rounds and respond to patient needs.
• Transport patients to and from treatment areas and assist with moving patients in wheelchairs/stretchers.
• Maintain cleanliness of patient rooms and equipment; restock supplies as directed.
• Execute other assigned duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
