Responsibilities

• Assist licensed nursing personnel in providing nursing care under supervision.
• Participate as a member of the healthcare team following standards and authorized duties for CNAs.
• Assist with clerical functions, housekeeping, and patient transportation throughout the hospital.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing care delegated by a registered nurse based on patient needs.
• Implementing interdisciplinary care plans.
• Organizing and adapting care considering patient preferences.
• Promoting self-care and independence.
• Addressing needs of cognitively impaired patients.
• Maintaining a safe environment and infection control.
• Recognizing and communicating abnormal signs or symptoms.
• Providing basic nutrition and hydration.
• Responding to emergencies appropriately.
• Completing documentation accurately.

Competency and Qualifications:

• Knowledge of statutes and regulations guiding CNA practice.
• Current certification maintained.
• Performing tasks within scope of practice.
• Demonstrating ongoing technical competency.
