Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - Durham is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for a full-time night shift (7 p.m. – 7 a.m.) in Durham, NC. Compensation ranges from $18.95 to $25.50 per hour plus a $2,500 sign-on bonus.

You will join a team focused on world-class inpatient post-ICU care, with orientation, RN scholarship opportunities, clinical ladder, and comprehensive benefits. Responsibilities include bathing, rounds, patient transport, and maintaining cleanliness of rooms and equipment;

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED (or relevant work experience).
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant or CNA certification or related field experience.

Responsibilities

• Bathing patients using basin-less products and assisting with oral hygiene and feeding.
• Conduct hourly rounds and monitor patient status.
• Assist with patient transport to treatment centers and help movers when needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of instruments and equipment and keep patient rooms orderly.
• Manage unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.

Responsibilities

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients' rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
