Job summary

Good Samaritan Health Care Center is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to provide high-quality nursing care in a skilled nursing and long-term care setting.

You will help residents with grooming, bathing, feeding, mobility, and daily tasks while adhering to individualized care plans and preserving resident rights and dignity.

Qualifications

• CNA certification in the state of employment.
• CPR/BLS card may be required.

Responsibilities

• Follow individualized care plans and report changes to care staff.
• Attend to residents' grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, and mobility.
• Maintain skin integrity through turning and moisturizers.
• Protect residents' belongings and report missing items.
• Take vital signs, document care, and use proper body mechanics.

$2.00 shift differential for Evening and $3.00 shift differential for NOC Shift

Full-Time Day and Part-Time NOC Shifts Available!

As a CNA, you provide quality nursing care and promote resident rights, dignity, freedom of choice, and individuality. You also provide individualized attention and encourage residents to maintain or attain their highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.

You Will:

• Ensure individualized care plans are followed and provide care planning staff with specific information, changes, and observations of the residents' needs and preferences.
• Attend to the resident's needs, including; grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, colostomy care, prosthetic appliances, transferring, ambulation, range of motion, communication, in keeping with the individuals' care requirements
• Maintain each resident's skin integrity to prevent pressure ulcers, skin tears, and other damage by changing incontinent residents, turning, repositioning immobile residents, and applying moisturizers to fragile skin.
• Protect the personal belongings of each resident and promptly report missing items according to established policy.
• Take vital signs, residents' weights, apply creams/ointments, collect specimens, lift, move, and transport residents, using proper body mechanics or lifting devices to prevent accidents.
• Document care in keeping with department policies
• Follow prescribed safety and infection control procedures.
• Communicate and interact tactfully with the residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.

You Currently:

• Possess a CNA certification in the state of employment.
• Have the ability to obtain CPR/BLS card.
