CNAs are responsible for:

• Attending to the individual needs of residents, including bathing, feeding, dressing, and ambulating.
• Taking and recording vital signs, assisting with lifting, moving, and transporting residents using proper body mechanics.
• Recognizing and reporting changes in resident conditions to nurse management, asking questions to clarify situations.
• Communicating effectively and tactfully with residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.
• Reporting abnormal changes or patterns to nursing staff.
• Assisting the nurse with various duties as directed.

CNA Requirements:

• At least one year of experience as a CNA in a long-term care setting is highly preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a current state certification as a CNA.
