Position Description

A nursing assistant responsible for providing routine nursing care according to established policies and procedures, under the supervision of the Charge Nurse, RN Supervisor, Director of Nurses, or Administrator, to ensure high-quality resident care at all times.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant license required.
• Minimum of 6 months experience as a CNA or clinical experience during certification training.
• Sincere desire to serve the ill, aged, and infirm.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, families, visitors, and the public.
• Willingness to work harmoniously with others.
• Patience, tact, cheerful disposition, enthusiasm, and ability to handle residents at their current maturity level.
• Good general health and emotional stability.
• Ability to work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and sometimes hostile individuals.

General Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform all duties as assigned, following facility policies, nursing care procedures, and safety regulations.
• Make resident rounds at the start of each shift and every two hours to administer care.
• Verify resident identification before providing care or serving food to ensure appropriate service.
• Report missing ID bands immediately to the admission coordinator.
• Make beds, clean bedside and overbed tables.
• Ensure water pitchers are cleaned, filled with fresh water, and within residents' reach.
• Perform other duties as directed by supervisors or management.
