Job summary

Sunrise Senior Living in Charlottesville, VA is seeking a Designated Nursing Assistant / Certified Nursing Assistant (DNA/CNA) to deliver direct, hands-on care in our skilled nursing community. You will work under licensed nurses, support ADLs, monitor vitals, document care, and participate in restorative and quality-improvement programs while upholding dignity and safety for residents.

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification per state regulations.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience in skilled nursing or senior care preferred.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to stay calm in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver care based on Individualized Service Plans (ISP).
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, mobility, dining, and toileting.
• Obtain and report vital signs, intake, and changes in condition.
• Partner with licensed nurses on restorative and care planning programs.
• Support fall prevention, skin care, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate documentation and restorative records.
• Respond promptly to resident, family, and visitor concerns.
• Follow infection control, OSHA, and safety guidelines at all times.
