Job summary

Ciena Healthcare in Michigan is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant for afternoon shifts to provide direct resident care and support licensed staff. You will assist with ADLs, monitor conditions, and maintain a safe, compassionate environment.

Eligible candidates must be a state-certified CNA in good standing or graduate of an approved program, and able to complete required state competency tests within 120 days. Sign-on bonus of $7,500 is offered.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate/GED required.
• Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant in good standing or a graduate of a state-approved nursing assistant training program.
• Must have passed a state-approved competency examination or be within 120 days of employment and listed in the state nurse aide registry.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and feeding.
• Measure and record vital signs, weight, and intake/output as directed.
• Assist residents with mobility, transfers, and positioning using proper body mechanics.
• Respond promptly to call lights and changes in condition; report observations to licensed staff.
• Support residents’ independence and dignity while ensuring safety and comfort.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation according to facility procedures.
• Follow infection control, safety, and universal precautions at all times.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.
• Provide postmortem care.

The Certified Nursing Assistant cares for residents under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse or a licensed practical/vocational nurse.
