Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant in good standing or graduate of a state approved CNA program.
• Must have passed the state approved competency exam within 120 days of employment.
• Nurse aide registry entry required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, incontinent care as applicable, oral hygiene and feeding.
• Measure and record vital signs, weight, intake/output as directed.
• Assist residents with mobility, transfers and positioning with proper body mechanics and lift equipment.
• Respond promptly to call lights, resident needs, and changes in condition; report observations to licensed nursing staff.
• Support residents’ independence and dignity, while ensuring safety and comfort.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation per facility procedures.
• Follow infection control, safety and universal precautions at all times.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment.
• Provide postmortem care.

The Certified Nursing Assistant cares for residents under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse or a licensed practical/vocational nurse. This role assists residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), ensures a safe and comfortable environment, and supports licensed nursing staff in delivering individualized care in accordance with regulatory requirements and facility policies.
