Job summary

Mennonite Village in Albany, Oregon seeks a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for our Skilled Nursing team, working evening shifts. You will provide hands-on care, assist with ADLs, and support residents with dignity and independence in a resident-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Current Oregon CNA certification in good standing.
• CPR/AED certification within 120 days of hire.
• English proficiency in speaking, reading and writing.
• Understanding of resident rights and person-centered care.
• Ability to assist with ADLs and mobility.
• Document care accurately and communicate needs to the healthcare team.
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed, 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care per individualized care plans.
• Assist with ADLs: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating.
• Respond promptly to call lights and requests for assistance.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and restorative activities.
• Obtain and document vital signs, weights, intake/output.

• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care.

Applicants for this posting will be working in Mennonite Home's Skilled Nursing Facility during the evening shift.

Working under the direction of licensed nursing staff, CNAs assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), monitor resident well‑being, respond to resident needs, and contribute to a safe, welcoming, and person‑centered environment. What You'll Do

• Provide direct resident care in accordance with individualized care plans.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, and personal hygiene.
• Respond promptly to resident call lights and requests for assistance
• Assist residents with mobility, ambulation, transfers, positioning, and restorative care activities.
• Obtain and document vital signs, weights, intake/output, and other assigned observations.
• Observe residents for changes in physical, emotional, or cognitive condition and promptly report concerns to licensed nursing staff.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided.
• Promote resident dignity, independence, privacy, and rights in all interactions.
• Follow infection prevention, safety, and emergency preparedness procedures.
• Work collaboratively with nurses, caregivers, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure quality resident care.

Requirements

Availability Requirements

• Ability to work a 40-hour, full-time work week.
• Must be available to work evening shift: 2pm-10:15pm.

Required

• Current Oregon Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing.
• Ability to obtain CPR/AED certification within 120 days of hire.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
• Demonstrated understanding of resident rights, dignity, confidentiality, and person‑centered care.
• Ability to safely assist residents with mobility, transfers, and activities of daily living.
• Ability to accurately document care and communicate resident needs to the healthcare team.
• Ability to work scheduled shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Preferred

• Previous experience in skilled nursing, long‑term care, rehabilitation, or senior living.
• Experience caring for older adults with complex medical, rehabilitative, or memory support needs.
• Experience using electronic records (EHR) or point‑of‑care charting systems.
• Additional healthcare certifications or training relevant to long‑term care.
