Job summary

Sapphire Nursing at Wappingers is seeking enthusiastic CNAs for all shifts in our premier long-term skilled nursing facility in Dutchess County, NY. Under supervision, CNAs provide direct nursing care and support residents’ personal comfort in a warm, professional environment.

New full-time hires in the nursing department receive a $1,500 sign-on bonus (paid in quarterly installments after successful completion of 90 days). Current NYS CNA certification required; LTC experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Current NYS CNA Certification.
• Previous Long Term Care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promotes resident hygiene and comfort.
• Distributes food/water and feeds residents.
• Assists with repositioning and transferring residents.
• Ambulates and transports residents.
• Records and totals fluid intake and output.
• Weighs residents.
• Documents on flow sheets.
• Assists with admission, discharge and postmortem care.
• Responds to call lights in a timely manner.
• Performs perineal care and uncomplicated colostomy care.
• Reports all observations & assessments to the Team Leader/Nurse Manager/Charge Nurse.
• Takes and records vital signs.
• Makes beds and keeps resident's units clean and in order.
• Prepares room for housekeeping after resident discharge.
