Position Summary:

The Certified Nursing Assistant delivers direct care to residents and patients in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards in a health and rehabilitation center (skilled nursing home). CNAs assist residents with activities of daily living, personal hygiene, and mobility, prioritizing their wellbeing and ensuring they maintain dignity and independence.

Responsibilities (What does a CNA do):

1. Caring for the personal needs, safety, and comfort of residents.
2. Assist residents with activities of daily living including wardrobe, personal hygiene, and mobility.
3. Aid in daily tasks such as telephone use, laundry, transportation, and mail delivery.
4. Perform light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation.
5. Provide medication reminders.
6. Observe and report changes in residents' condition and status.
7. Conduct rounds to monitor for hazards or incidents.
8. Assist in dining, including escorting residents to the dining room, serving, and cleanup.
9. Offer companionship and conversation.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications (What do you need to be a CNA):

1. High School diploma or GED.
2. Must be 18 years of age.
3. Completion of a state-approved CNA certification course.
4. Ability to read and communicate effectively to perform essential job duties.
5. Ability to treat and care for seniors and their property with dignity and respect.
6. Ability to communicate in a friendly and congenial manner.
7. Caregivers must complete our new hire orientation.
