Job summary

Ascend Hospice in Overland Park, KS seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide compassionate patient care within home health and hospice settings. You will assist with ADLs, transfers, meal support, and monitoring patient status under nursing supervision.

Education includes a high school diploma and a State Certified CNA license; travel to patients is required, with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Competitive benefits and growth opportunities accompany the role.

Qualifications

• No experience necessary but 1 year, preferred.
• Must be willing to travel.

Responsibilities

• Provides or assists in ADL activities including personal hygiene, grooming, mouth, skin care and nails.
• Assists with toileting, positioning and transfer activities and bed mobility.
• Assists with prescribed exercises and ROM as taught by Hospice Nurse.
• Performs light housekeeping and patient laundry as part of unit care.
• Assists with meals and monitoring intake.
• Obtains temperature, pulse and respirations under supervision.
• Reports changes to Hospice Nurse and documents on required forms.
• Assists or reminds patient to take medications per regulatory guidelines.

Now Hiring - Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Overland Park, KS

Hours: M-F 08:30AM - 5PM

This Certified Nursing Assistant will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Provides or assists in ADL activities; personal hygiene, grooming, mouth, skin care and nails.
• Provides assistance in toileting; positioning and transfer activities, frequent turning and positioning of a bed bound resident/patient.
• Assists with the prescribed exercise and ROM activities which the resident/patient and Hospice aide have been taught by the Hospice Nurse.
• Assists with light housekeeping of individual's personal unit or room, including changing of bed linen, if needed and patient laundry.
• Feeds and assists with meals.
• Obtains temperature, pulse and respirations as supervised by the Hospice Nurse.
• Reports any changes in resident's/patient's condition to the Hospice Nurse and, if in a facility, to the facility nurse and documents the information on the Home Health Aide Certification of House form, including the date and time of the report and the person receiving the information.
• Assists or reminds the patient to take medication, in compliance with regulations of appropriate regulatory and accrediting bodies.

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent
