Job summary

Ascend Hospice in Overland Park, KS, is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for weekday hours. The role supports hospice patients with essential daily care, mobility, and medication reminders under nursing supervision.

Ideal candidates hold a State Certified CNA license and are willing to travel. Prior hospice or home health experience is preferred, but applicants with a year’s experience are considered. Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a State Certified CNA license.
• Experience in hospice or home health preferred.
• No experience required but 1 year preferred.
• Must be willing to travel.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provides or assists in ADL activities including personal hygiene, grooming, mouth, skin care, and nails.
• Assists with toileting, positioning and transfer activities, frequent turning and positioning for bed-bound patients.
• Assists with prescribed exercises and ROM as taught by the Hospice Nurse.
• Assists with light housekeeping of the patient’s unit/room and bed linen changes as needed.
• Feeds and assists with meals.
• Obtains temperature, pulse and respirations as supervised by the Hospice Nurse.
• Reports changes in patient condition to the Hospice Nurse and documents the report.
• Assists or reminds patient to take medications in line with regulatory requirements.

Now Hiring -Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Overland Park, KS

Hours: M-F 08:30AM - 5PM

ThisCertified Nursing Assistantwill be responsible for, but not limited to:

1. Provides or assists in ADL activities; personal hygiene, grooming, mouth, skin care and nails.
2. Provides assistance in toileting; positioning and transfer activities, frequent turning and positioning of a bed bound resident/patient.
3. Assists with the prescribed exercise and ROM activities which the resident/patient and Hospice aide have been taught by the Hospice Nurse.
4. Assists with light housekeeping of individual's personal unit or room, including changing of bed linen, if needed and patient laundry.
5. Feeds and assists with meals.
6. Obtains temperature, pulse and respirations as supervised by the Hospice Nurse.
7. Reports any changes in resident's/patient's condition to the Hospice Nurse and, if in a facility, to the facility nurse and documents the information on the Home Health Aide Certification of House form, including the date and time of the report and the person receiving the information.
8. Assists or reminds the patient to take medication, in compliance with regulations of appropriate regulatory and accrediting bodies.

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Professional Experience:

• Must have a State Certified CNA license
• Experience in hospice or home health, preferred
• No experience necessary but 1 year, preferred
• Must be willing to travel
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
