Job summary

Presbyterian Living is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant Float at Westminster Place in Evanston, IL. The role offers part-time hours (7am-3pm) with every-other-weekend shifts and an hourly rate of $20.35–$29.30 based on experience, plus shift and weekend differentials.

Responsibilities include direct and indirect resident care under nurse supervision, and collaboration with the nursing team to meet residents’ needs. CNA certification in Illinois and CPR are required.

Position Overview

The main function of this position is to provide direct and indirect care under supervision of the nurse to a selected group of residents. This role can be in skilled care department or assisted living department.The minimum education, experience and qualifications for this position are: current certification as a nursing assistant with the Illinois Department of Public Health; able to speak, read, write and comprehend English skills needed to use medical terminology on the job; ability to do simple arithmetic; good communication skills; interest in working with older adults; and general knowledge of the needs of geriatric residents

Key Responsibilities

• Carries out nursing care with the scope of education/training and ability as assigned by charge nurse.
• Adheres to the policies and procedures of Presbyterian Homes standards of care of the nursing department.
• Communicates properly with co-workers, supervisors, other employees and visitors. Interacts with residents to meet their social and recreational needs.
• Uses good interpersonal skills in establishing a relationship with the residents.
• Assists residents with activities of daily living as needed.
• Preforms other related duties as assigned by Charge Nurse.

Qualifications & Skills

• CNA Certification in the state of Illinois.
• CPR certified, Accredited by American Heart Association.
• Reading, writing, and comprehension skilled needed to use medical terminology on the job.
• Ability to do simple arithmetic.
• Long-term care experience preferred but not required.
• General knowledge of the needs of general patients.
