Job summary

Willamette Valley Medical Center in McMinnville, OR is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant/Asst. (CNA) for the Birthing Center. The role is full-time with day shifts and an hourly wage of $20.25–$29.15.

You will provide essential patient care under RN supervision, support newborn care, and participate in family-centered, safe care practices. Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, an active Oregon CNA license, and Basic Life Support (BLS).

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care under RN supervision, including vital signs, intake/output, blood glucose testing, and assistance with daily living activities.

• Assists with newborn care, hearing screenings, metabolic screenings, weights, measurements, and family-centered care practices.
• Maintains newborn testing equipment and supplies.
• Promotes a compassionate, respectful environment for patients and families.
• Responds to patient and visitor needs while protecting privacy and confidentiality.

How You'll Contribute

Patient Care & Newborn Support

• Provides basic patient care under RN supervision, including vital signs, intake/output, blood glucose testing, and assistance with daily living activities.
• Observes and reports changes in patient condition and provides comfort and emotional support.
• Assists with newborn care, hearing screenings, metabolic screenings, weights, measurements, and family-centered care practices.
• Maintains newborn testing equipment and supplies.

Family-Centered Care

• Promotes a compassionate, respectful environment for patients and families.
• Encourages family involvement in care and communicates effectively to support a positive patient experience.
• Responds to patient and visitor needs while protecting privacy and confidentiality.

Safety & Security

• Supports newborn security and unit safety policies.
• Monitors visitor access and compliance with security procedures.
• Reports safety or security concerns promptly.
• Participates in infant security drills and collaborates with the healthcare team to maintain a safe environment.

What We're Looking For
