Job summary

Willamette Valley Medical Center in McMinnville, OR, seeks a Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) to support patient care on the Birthing Center. You’ll perform basic care under RN supervision, monitor vital signs, assist with newborn procedures, and engage families in care to promote a positive experience.

Required: High school diploma or equivalent, Oregon CNA license, and BLS. This is a full-time day-shift opportunity with competitive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care under RN supervision, including vital signs, intake/output, blood glucose testing, and activities of daily living.

• Assists with newborn care, newborn testing, weights and measurements, and family-centered care practices.
• Maintains newborn testing equipment and supplies.
• Supports newborn security and unit safety policies.

Job Title: Certified Nursing Aide/Asst. (CNA) Job Type: Full Time Schedule: Days Unit: Birthing Center Hourly Wage: $20.25 - $29.15 per hour

How you'll contribute:

• Patient Care & Newborn Support
• Provides basic patient care under RN supervision, including vital signs, intake/output, blood glucose testing, and assistance with daily living activities.
• Observes and reports changes in patient condition and provides comfort and emotional support.
• Assists with newborn care, hearing screenings, metabolic screenings, weights, measurements, and family-centered care practices.
• Maintains newborn testing equipment and supplies.
• Family-Centered Care
• Promotes a compassionate, respectful environment for patients and families.
• Encourages family involvement in care and communicates effectively to support a positive patient experience.
• Responds to patient and visitor needs while protecting privacy and confidentiality.
• Safety & Security
• Supports newborn security and unit safety policies.
• Monitors visitor access and compliance with security procedures.
• Reports safety or security concerns promptly.
• Participates in infant security drills and collaborates with the healthcare team to maintain a safe environment.
