Job summary

Willamette Valley Medical Center in McMinnville, OR seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for Medical-Surgical/Med-Surg to provide direct patient care on 12-hour shifts. This union role offers a wage scale of $56.65–$78.08 per hour with 7:00-19:30 shifts and comprehensive benefits.

The RN will coordinate care, teach patients and families, and act as a patient advocate within a 38-bed unit with an 4:1 nurse ratio. Willamette ValleyMedical Center is part of Lifepoint Health and emphasizes community health.

Qualifications

• Current state RN license.
• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in nursing from an accredited nursing school.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• 1 year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate total nursing care for Med/Surg patients.
• Participate in patient and family teaching.
• Advocate for patients and work with an interdisciplinary team.
• Follow nursing process per standards of practice.

Department/Unit Summary

The RN - Med/Surg coordinates total nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching, acts as a patient advocate and works as part of a team with ancillary and non-nursing departments. Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

• 4:1 Nurse Ratio
• 8:1 CNA Ratio
• Break Nurse, Charge Nurse, and Nursing Supervisor on staff

• 12 Hour Shifts

Qualifications and requirements

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a bachelor's degree or associate degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• BLS, ACLS
• 1 year of experience preferred
