Job summary

Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center is seeking a Certified Medicine Aide (CMA) for the Hall 1 Rehab/Subacute Care unit. You will assist residents with daily living activities and administer non-narcotic medications under a licensed nurse's supervision, delivering compassionate, resident-centered care.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or high school certificate.
  • Current Maryland Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification.
  • Current Maryland Certified Medicine Aide (CMA) certification (CMT certification does not qualify).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to provide compassionate, resident-centered care in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
  • Provide basic nursing care under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
  • Promote residents' comfort, safety, and emotional well-being.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized resident environment.
  • Prepare and administer oral, topical, and suppository non-narcotic medications as ordered by the physician.
  • Accurately document medications administered and resident responses.
  • Observe residents for medication side effects or changes in condition.
  • Report medication discrepancies or resident concerns to the Nurse Manager or Director of Nursing.
  • Follow all facility policies, state regulations, and infection prevention practices.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and members of the interdisciplinary care team.

Join the dedicated team at Levindale Hospital's Hall 1 Rehab/Subacute Care unit, where compassionate caregivers help patients recover, regain independence, and transition successfully through their rehabilitation journey. Hall 1 is a fast-paced subacute rehab environment caring for patients with a variety of medical conditions including post-surgical recovery, orthopedic rehabilitation, cardiac conditions, wound care, IV therapy, and other skilled nursing needs.

Hall 1 promotes a collaborative, patient-centered environment focused on safety, dignity, comfort, and high-quality care. Team members must be compassionate, motivated, dependable, and committed to providing exceptional support to patients and families.

Summary:

The Certified Medicine Aide (CMA) provides direct resident care and administers non-narcotic medications under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This role supports residents with daily living activities while promoting comfort, safety, dignity, and quality of care.

Qualifications

  • Less than one (1) year of experience required; entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Current Maryland Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification.
  • Current Maryland Certified Medicine Aide (CMA) certification (CMT certification does not qualify).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to provide compassionate, resident-centered care in a team environment.

Pay Range: $20.00 to $20.00
