Job summary

Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center, a LifeBridge Health facility in Baltimore, is seeking a Certified Medicine Aide (CMA) for Hall 1 Rehab/Subacute Care. You will provide direct resident care and administer non-narcotic medications under a licensed nurse, supporting patients' daily living and comfort.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, documenting care, monitoring meds, and communicating with the inter-disciplinary team to ensure safety and dignity.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • GNA certification from Maryland required.
  • CMA certification from Maryland required.
  • BLS certification from AHA required.
  • Strong communication and patient-centered care skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living.
  • Provide basic nursing care under supervision.
  • Promote residents' safety and comfort.
  • Maintain clean and safe resident environment.
  • Prepare and administer non-narcotic medications as ordered.

  • Report discrepancies or resident concerns to the Nurse Manager.

Job description

Summary:

Join the dedicated team at Levindale Hospital's Hall 1 Rehab/Subacute Care unit, where compassionate caregivers help patients recover, regain independence, and transition successfully through their rehabilitation journey. Hall 1 is a fast-paced subacute rehab environment caring for patients with a variety of medical conditions including post-surgical recovery, orthopedic rehabilitation, cardiac conditions, wound care, IV therapy, and other skilled nursing needs.

Hall 1 promotes a collaborative, patient-centered environment focused on safety, dignity, comfort, and high-quality care. Team members must be compassionate, motivated, dependable, and committed to providing exceptional support to patients and families.

Certified Medicine Aide (CMA)

The Certified Medicine Aide (CMA) provides direct resident care and administers non-narcotic medications under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This role supports residents with daily living activities while promoting comfort, safety, dignity, and quality of care.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
  • Provide basic nursing care under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
  • Promote residents' comfort, safety, and emotional well-being.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized resident environment.
  • Prepare and administer oral, topical, and suppository non-narcotic medications as ordered by the physician.
  • Accurately document medications administered and resident responses.
  • Observe residents for medication side effects or changes in condition.
  • Report medication discrepancies or resident concerns to the Nurse Manager or Director of Nursing.
  • Follow all facility policies, state regulations, and infection prevention practices.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and members of the interdisciplinary care team.
Qualifications:
Required:
  • High school diploma, GED, or high school certificate.
  • Less than one (1) year of experience required; entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Current Maryland Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification.
  • Current Maryland Certified Medicine Aide (CMA) certification (CMT certification does not qualify).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to provide compassionate, resident-centered care in a team environment.

Pay Range: $20.00 to $20.00
