Job summary

LifeBridge Health's Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center seeks a Charge Nurse to lead nursing staff in a six-household long-term care setting designed to feel like home. You will mentor team members, coordinate daily operations, and ensure safe, high-quality resident care across RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.

You bring an accredited nursing program credential, Maryland RN licensure, BLS, and at least two years of geriatric or long-term care experience, with strong leadership and communication skills to

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current Maryland RN license or eligibility for Maryland licensure.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience, preferably in long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or geriatric care.
  • Strong clinical assessment, leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care while leading and supporting nursing staff.
  • Coordinate daily clinical operations and resident care.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and role model for RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
  • Monitor resident conditions, identify changes, and respond appropriately to clinical concerns.

  • Conduct patient rounds, chart reviews, and compliance monitoring.
  • Support staff education, orientation, competency validation, and professional development.
  • Participate in employee coaching and performance management.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Promote resident safety, quality care, resident satisfaction, and teamwork.
  • Lead and respond to emergency situations while maintaining unit operations.

Job description

Experience nursing in a long-term care setting designed to feel like home. The Households at Levindale is an innovative, resident-centered community featuring six intimate households with just 14 private rooms each, allowing nurses to build meaningful relationships while providing personalized, compassionate care. Two households specialize in dementia care, and one is dedicated to serving the Orthodox Jewish community.

Charge Nurse

The Charge Nurse serves as a clinical leader, mentor, and resource for nursing staff while ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality resident care. This role collaborates with the interdisciplinary team, supports staff development, coordinates daily operations, and promotes a culture of teamwork, safety, and excellence.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current Maryland RN license or eligibility for Maryland licensure.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience, preferably in long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or geriatric care.
  • Strong clinical assessment, leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
  • Previous Charge Nurse, Team Lead, or supervisory experience.
  • Experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing.
  • Nursing specialty certification or willingness to obtain certification within three to five years.

Pay Range: $37.07 to $57.46 Based On Experience
