Job summary

LifeBridge Health seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant for Burk 1, a specialized 17-bed long-term care unit in Baltimore. You will assist with ADLs, monitor vitals, and support mobility, documenting in the EMR. Maryland CNA I certification and BLS/CPR are required; prior LTC experience is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with ADLs: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding.
  • Record vital signs, weights, input/output as directed.
  • Assist with transfers and mobility using equipment.
  • Provide safe, dignified, comfortable care.
  • Document observations in the electronic medical record.
  • Support residents and families with compassionate care.

Job description

Burk 1 is a specialized 17-bed Pulmonary Care long-term care unit where residents make their home and receive comprehensive nursing care. Many residents are alert and oriented but require assistance managing chronic and acute medical conditions. The unit also cares for residents with chronic tracheostomies, providing team members with valuable experience in complex pulmonary and long-term care.

Burk 1 features a variety of specialty beds and equipment designed to support the diverse physical and clinical needs of our residents. Our team is committed to delivering compassionate, resident-centered care while fostering meaningful relationships with those we serve.

Job Summary

Provides safe, age-appropriate resident care by assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) while maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment. Works collaboratively with nurses and other healthcare professionals to support the physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs of residents.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
  • Obtain and record vital signs, weights, and intake/output as directed.
  • Assist with transfers, ambulation, positioning, and mobility needs using appropriate equipment.
  • Provide routine resident care while promoting dignity, comfort, and independence.
  • Observe and report changes in resident condition to the licensed nurse.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized resident care environment.
  • Utilize proper infection prevention and safety practices.
  • Assist with admissions, discharges, and resident transport as needed.
  • Document care and observations accurately in the electronic medical record.
  • Support residents and families with compassionate, person-centered care.
Requirements
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
Licensure & Certifications Required
  • Current Maryland CNA I (Certified Nursing Assistant I (GNA))
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) CPR certification required. BLS
Experience
  • Less than one year of healthcare experience required.
  • Long-term care experience preferred.
Skills & Knowledge
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic health records (Synquest preferred).
  • Ability to use communication devices and basic medical equipment.
  • Experience with Hoyer lifts, specialty beds, and resident mobility equipment preferred.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills.

Pay Range: $20.00
