Job summary

The Medication Assistant (MA) at Good Samaritan Canistota, SD provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a charge nurse. You will help with basic health needs, daily living activities, and coordination of care.

Administer prescribed medications as delegated, document outcomes, and monitor residents for changes. You will assist with transfers, meals, and wellness programs while maintaining compassionate, quality care.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• A minimum of 12 hours continuing education annually per state requirements.
• CMA/CNA certifications must be maintained per state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing and daily living assistance as directed by the charge nurse.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated and document outcomes.
• Monitor vital signs and communicate care concerns to the charge nurse.
• Assist with transfers, meals, hygiene, and activities to support resident well-being.
