The Medication Assistant (MA) at Good Samaritan, Canistota, SD, provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under a charge nurse. You’ll assist with basic health tasks, administer medications as delegated, and support dining and activity programs to enhance resident well‑being.

This role requires a CMA/CNA credential per state regulations, strong communication, and a compassionate approach to aging care.

Formación

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 18 preferred; prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• Annual competency testing and continuing education requirements (12 hours/year).
• State CMA/CNA certification expectations and renewals per Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota.
• Active CNA/CMA/TMA registration or ability to obtain within 120 days.

Responsabilidades

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under supervision of a charge nurse.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated and document outcomes related to care.
• Record vital signs and communicate condition changes to the charge nurse.
• Assist with transfers, positioning, walking, grooming, meals and dining experiences.
• Perform housekeeping and laundry tasks and support wellness and recreational programs.
