PACS is actively seeking a Licensed Medication Aide to administer oral and topical medications to residents in a post-acute setting. You will follow facility policies, document administration, and promptly report any adverse reactions.

This role requires a high school education and a state license, with the ability to read and interpret regulations. You will collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, and pharmacists to ensure safe, accurate medication passes and resident care.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Must be able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
  • Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately and safely prepare, administer, and document oral and topical medications for residents as ordered by the attending physician or Medical Director.
  • Verify resident identity before administering medications.
  • Record and report any adverse reactions or medication errors, and participate in quality assurance programs.
  • Follow facility policies on labeling, disposal, charting, and removing medications when discontinued.
  • Protect resident privacy and maintain compliance with protected health information rules.
