Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a Medication Assistant to provide resident-centered care and daily living assistance under supervision in a rural health setting. You will help with bathing, grooming, dining, and mobility, while administering prescribed medications as directed by a licensed nurse.

The role requires at least 3 months of long-term care experience, completion of annual competency tests, and ongoing continuing education.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 months experience in Long Term Care (6 months preferred).
• Satisfactorily completes yearly department-specific competency testing and maintains continuing education credits (12 hours annually).
• May need a valid driver’s license and auto insurance when applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under supervision.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Record vital signs and communicate care changes to the charge nurse.
• Assist with meals, hygiene, grooming, and mobility as needed.
• Support wellness and recreational activities and participate in care planning.
