Qualifications

• Must possess, as a minimum, a high school education or its equivalent.
• Language skills to read, analyze, and interpret general business materials.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to present information clearly to managers and staff.
• Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts and interpret numbers.

Responsibilities

• Follow the facility policies governing medication administration.
• Note and report errors in the administration of medications.
• Assist in developing procedures to reduce medication errors and improve safety.
• Complete required forms, charts, and reports as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with nursing staff, physicians, pharmacists.
• Report complaints or resident concerns to the Director of Nursing Services.
• Participate in quality assurance and medication-related committees.
• Prepare, administer, and document oral and topical medications as ordered.
• Verify medications brought by new residents are examined by the physician or pharmacist.
